Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 2D Mode

I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and i amtrying to use compiz and Unity but it is telling me that it is running on 2D even though I am running on 3D. I am not sure what is wrong.. Can someone help me out?

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C display; lsb_release -a; uname -a

Yeah that dual GPU nonsense is a nightmare under Linux. There is a project called IronHide which may help but I've never seen a success story with this. Also Nvidia have said they will not be supporting this outside of Windows.
