Ubuntu 12.04 unstable: Dock, panel flickering

Asked by Tejas Chavan on 2012-03-25

I used to have Ubuntu 11.10, then I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04
It was running normally until I did the Software up to date.
Now when I restarted my PC, Dock and panel flickers as I move my cursor over them. Sometimes, some of the part of Dock disappears and appears again moments later.
Even while operating mouse on terminal, (right click to paste) flickering of terminal window appears.

The panel, window and dock keeps flickering when its doing some action like if I move cursor over it, or when program is loading, web page is refreshing, (i mean the animated movement, when its happening it flickers...).

Please switch to Unity-2d, Ubuntu 12.04 is not a stable release... then test unity (not 3d in the next days)

okay! Can I downgrade to previous unity version??
And are you sure its bug regarding unity??
Thanks for your assistance!!

You've upgraded to beta-1, what did you expect? Since 12.04 will be LTS and expected to be rock stable, it needs testing, testing, testing and bug fixing, that's why there could be lots of updates, breakages and fixes in the next days, which is typical for a devel cycle in it's last stage.
Refer to linked bug report.

I know what I am doing, just wanted to know its result of broken unity plugin or video driver problem..!!

> wanted to know its result of broken unity plugin or video driver

Then bugstatus and devel-news are the right place.
