Why is Workspace Switcher locked to bottom of Dash?

Asked by Guy Stone

My usual workflow makes heavy use of workspaces to isolate each project I'm simultaneously working on. I'd rather have that lens movable to where I can rapidly access it. To make matters worse, I'm on a netbook connected to an ext monitor, so my vertical space is really limited!

I don't think it would hurt to permit moving that lens. Initial placement being last is fine for those who don't use that feature. Loss of the bottom panel of Gnome2 initially looked like a real showstopper for my acceptance of Unity, but they're managed to improve the situation from unusable to annoying. Keep up the good work :)

You can't move it, but, just in case, you can press Super key+S for the workspace switcher to appear.

Thanks for tip. But I think that points to why Unity is having acceptance problems. Everything seems to take one more key or mouse click that it used to.

I used to be a developer on a sytem used by lab techs for processing biological samples. Any time an analyst tried to introduce another step into their default dialog, they screamed bloody murder.
