unity package

my dash home button does not show anything

I installed the UBUNTU 11.10 on my laptob and pc. but on the pc I don't have dash home complitly.when I click on it, dos.t show up any application or even search part. nothing.. I have used the same CD for both.

If you press SuperL (Wndows key), does that work?
Are you fully updated?
What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy dash

I am having the same problem. When I hit the Windows key, the Dash menu briefly comes up and then closes a half second later.

Hi, I found the reason. it was display resolution. after changing the
resolution, Dash came on.

Report a bug. Precise is NOT ready so you will get issues.

I downloaded & installed the latest update and that seems to have cleared up the problem. Thank you.
