I can't change the pointer size with the new interface of ubuntu 11.10

Asked by Emmanuel O'Daly

Honestly i have entered as many system setting files and folders, i've run the guantlet of option boxes, but the only time i've been able to change the pointer size and type is when i some how stumbled on a menu that changed the theme back to the last OS style and then suddenly it changed itself back to the new style after an hour or so. Please i am an illustrator, i need a small pointer while i work and such and the giant black pointer is not allowing me to work well lol kinda driving me crazy!

Maybe install smaller cursor theme which don't change it's size.
e.g.
oxygen-cursor-theme
oxygen-cursor-theme-extra
crystalcursors

Search software-center or via terminal:
apt-cache search | grep cursor*

After installation select the preferred one:
sudo update-alternatives --config x-cursor-theme

and logout-in if it doesn't change right away.

Erratum:
- apt-cache search | grep cursor*
+ apt-cache search cursor | grep cursor

Can you help with this problem?
