How to Customize ENTRIES within the LAUNCHER?

Asked by Ken Wagner

How about SUB-SECTIONS; e.g. Make a Graphics icon in Launcher that holds several icons for various programs?

How about a LIST of running programs? If I have 10 or more programs running the Launcher runs off the screen and I have no idea if a program is running unless I sweep up and down to look. VERY annoying.

Why can't I put icons in the top panel? Lots of dead & wasted space up there. It could make my life so much easier.

UNITY has a long way to go.

As for me I am going back to Lucid Lynx LTS. GNOME works so, so much better.

Thanks for listening.

Ken

Has an example if how to make unity menus, these can launch apps. There are great ones for Nautilus and LibreOffice so that each icon launches the folders and apps (respectively)

Also remember, you don't have to use Unity or even Gnome, you can use XFCE and it wil look and feel like Gnome2

I found I can drag icons to the desktop and execute them there.

Works OK. Stops the Launcher from getting clogged up.
