Annoying Screen Problem 11.10

Asked by behexen

I have been using the newest version of ubuntu for the last couple of days.

I don't like the new user interface at all but I am going to keep it because it works very reliably and does everything I need it to do with no issues. There is one small but annoying issue, though.

When a move my mouse pointer to the right or left of the screen I sometimes "trip" this transparent orange box that shoots out from the edge of the screen and covers half of the space on my desktop.

Sort of like I highlighted 1/2 of my screen.

It is transparent so I can still use the computer and I can get it to go away if I do something like switch screens or change to a different app.

I just don't know what causes it so I have no idea how to avoid it.

Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.
