citrix screen (re)size vs unity

Asked by Daniel Carosone

Launching the citrix client via a CSG web page, the desktop session is always the same size as the physical screen (as if it were full screen mode). This happens regardless of the preferences set in the citrix gateway session, which presumably are then passed down in the launch.ica.

Regardless, this full screen session is then offset by the size of the top and left unity menu/icon bars, which means i lose the right and bottom of the screen.

Supposedly, SHIFT-F2 should allow me to resize the client window, and it does on other clients - but on ubuntu there is no response to this. So I can't use resize to work around the awkward size and placement.

So, apparently, the client window is immune to sizing hints or requests - perhaps it has a poor interaction with the unity desktop. I haven't tried running it under some other desktop shell.

This is on 11.10 i386.
