Did an upgrade on one of our systems and want to change Desktop

We upgraded to OO from Natty. Big mistake. We can not make use of the gaudy stuff on the side of the display. We can not find a means
to change to the classic desktop, as was available in Natty. Any help would be appreciated.

If this is the only desktop then we have to say it is not as good as the ole one.

Many thanks. Problem solved. Also solved networking problem and was able to find server with et0. Problem with FTP is still causing us to hesitate.
