Upgraded to 11.10, lost some icons on Launcher & other apps

Asked by Brian Hobden

Upgraded from 11.04 to 11.10. No apparent problems but upon restart noticed that several icons were blanked out - Home button, waste bin, (from Launcher), printer icons & about 25% of other apps icons. Also, no Power button in top right corner. How can I recover/restore to the correct settings?
