Click on the search icon in the panel on the left and search for System Settings
Then open the 'Screen' setting.
On that screen there is an option to uncheck the 'Dim screen to save power' tick box. That will stop the screen dimming.

No such option like 'Dim screen to save power' available.

Hi Vladimir,

I had the same problem in 11.10 beta 2, it was intolerable.

The screen auto dimmed every couple of seconds and windows lost focus, very frustrating. Tracing my steps backwards, under the screen option I set the options back to:

Turn off after: 1 hour

Lock: on

Lock screen after: Screen turns off.

That resolved the problem, everything is good now.

I believe when I had set it to never turn off or lock that's when my problems began.
