disable or uninstall launcher in 11.04

Hi

I gave it a try, but I must say that the new launcher makes it more difficult to work with Ubuntu.
I also found it awkward to use on the netbook version.

So is there a way to turn it off or even uninstall it?

Log off, click your name and select 'Ubuntu Classic' at the botttom:

You can then get the old skool desktop. To my knowledge future releases will use Unity (which is what that is called) as default and will use Unity 2D instead of Ubuntu Classic.

Oneiric will have Unity in both so if it is not desirable you may want to use KDE, LXDE, XFCE or any other of the available desktops
