lost all icons, just a blank screen. How do I get the launcher to show?

Had a power failure. Started up the computer I have Ubuntu 11.04 I have a blank screen and lost all icons. How do I get Mozilla Firefox icon along with the launchers?

I suggest you test your RAM as well as boot to live CD to test the partition. If you used Wubi rather than a true install I suggest you boot to Windows and fully chkdsk your NTFS partition so you know it is healthy
