nothing on desktop, no luncher etc..

I disabled some plug in to order to run advanced visual effects and now i lost everything from my desktop. nothing on it but the background image. after boot up...

Log in to gnome classic and you can undo the change there, then log out and log back in to the Ubuntu desktop. Sounds like you simply disabled the Unity plugin

Well before reading ur answer i logged in safe mode (i have no idea how to log in with gnome classic i running 11.04 by the way) and i enabled the unity plugin but it did not helped... so since i had no documents on the drive i re installed
