Your video graphics card might not support Unity. You could boot from Natty's liveCD and run the command below from the Terminal:

 /usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p

HTH.

You should still be able to log in to the "Ubuntu classic" desktop and have a fully functioning system without Unity. Once you have done so, find Terminal in the menus and enter the command Ian gave you above. Post the results back here.

In some cases this condition is spurious and it's possible to force Unity 3D to run on the hardware you already have. Otherwise you would have to upgrade your graphics hardware or simply run the classic desktop or Unity 2D.

The answer should be in the results from unity_support_test.

Can you help with this problem?
