my menu bar at the top of screen is gone gnome

my top menu bar is gone after a apt-get upgrade. I saw there was a gdm upgrade...
Please, help!

If you could get to a Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T), try to issue the command below:

unity --reset

Im not using unity

after a reboot it was fixed...
