Bring back 10.04 desktop, I can't use this Vista garbage layout, Linux worse than Microsoft.

The desktop is horrible. I can't even find a way to close Firefox half the time, can't tell the desktop from the browser. God awful side bar might be good for two year olds.

Everything loads slower too, seems to hesitate and wants to crash. I've got important things to do like make money, I don't have time to screw around with desktop settings. Please make it easier to use the old theme, just put an icon on the desktop.

I didn't think a software company could screw up a desktop worse than Vista, but you've got my nomination.

Linux sucks now. If users want their own themes, fine, let them install them. I don't have time for this crap.

Hi Steve,

If you need some help please be specific as to what is the problem.

For example, if you want the classic desktop at the login screen select 'Classic' from the combobox at the problem.

you can change to the gnome desktop at the login screen. after you chooses the login user, click on the unity text at the bottom of the screen, then choose classic. this will get rid of the unity/sidebar desktop until you reset it.

try getting the mate package
its still in alpha but its better than classic
find it via launchpad
unity is crap but i have seen the alpha of windows 8 and it looks disgusting!
