Unity now works in Gnome 3... Why?

Asked by Ian Douglas Scott

I have Ubuntu Natty Narwhal. When Natty came out, I installed the Gnome Shell. When I did that, Unity did not work, as I had heard. But I tried the Ubuntu option at login, and Unity actually loaded! I tested it, and Gnome Shell also worked. Why? Under system info, Gnome is reported to be in version 3.02. I used the standard PPA. I am posting this question in Unity.

The PPA is a 3rd party repo, not an official source. I suggest you contact the packager
