Launcher don't hide

I installed Ubuntu 11.04 on an HP Pavillion Slimline and the Launcher never hides. I launch applications and it's always there. I tried to drag a folder to the Launcher as suggested in other reported case, but it goes darker and doesn't accept the drag and drop. Can be an installation problem or configuration ? I couldn't find any "show/hide" option ...
