Top bar hides tabs and minimize, maximize icons in firefox

How do I move the top bar to the bottom or not have the top of firefox go under the top bar. Also I cannot use compiz fusions multiple desktops. If these cannot be corrected how do I get back the gnome desktop?

If you are using Natty, log off then select your username, then at the bottom of the screen select Gnome Classic, then log on
