Graphical problems when disabling\enabling unity plugin (compiz).

Asked by Charlie Suzzo

I just upgraded to 11.04 from Maverick Meerkat. I found the whole "Unity development" very amazing, but as all new releases, the bugs are very irksome. I had Ubuntu Tweak on the Meerkat and I had gotten used to the plugins it had. With Unity it seemed so different (there is no ubuntu tweak for Natty Natilus). I had to disalbe and restart the system because when I tried to customize the unity settings, the unity bar and search box froze and did not respond; it also created a distorted view of it, as if the graphics stopped working on unity. I disabled it but it takes away my system tray. any help?

It's Natty Narwal, not Natty Natilus.

All I can suggest you log a bug. Natty is very young and a lotof the bugs in the beta stages will be around.

The web is full with news on that subject since month, it's a brand new shell, so no surprise there.

Disabled what and where?
Which systray? Unity only shows systray when there're whitelisted apps.
As for Natty you need to tell which shell is in use, Unity, Gnome-classic with or without visual effects.

As for Unity there are some tricks, depends on what you'd like to achieve. Did I mention it's brand new?
So if you like to tell us in details what you'd like to achieve you'll get a better answer than then that.

Yep there is.

Although I'd read over bug reports first.
