LAUNCHER has NO Controls?

Asked by Dr. Duane Elihu Xavier

I have tried clicking on the Launcher Bar after Installing Ubuntu 11.04 and can NOT find Options as to ICON size and Position for the Bar? First I do NOT like the Position and the ICON Size is too big? Even Windows START gives you Control over ICON Size! I really like the previous Bar better! Also I can NOT find what I'm looking for..like Software Updates? Why did you hide everything..smile? I liked the previous Preferences ! Is this a rush to get this in or was it a Oversight? I liked the Preferences and Administration Menus! Perhaps you could put those ICONS on the Bar? KDE has a better K Bar then Gnome! Is this a rush to get the Bar in the Upgrade or an Oversight? Perhaps you should have a VIDEO Clip to Explain how to USE the Launcher instead of going into HELP and searching All over? Also when I click the Minimize in the Browser and Help it becomes Hidden! Where does it go and HOW do I get it back?

You are looking at the Canonical developed "unity" desktop -- this is not gnome, although canonical do re-use some gnome code.

To go back to the way it was in 10.10, you can choose the "classic" desktop at login -- after you select your username and before you enter your password.

I recommend waiting to see what others think before upgrading if this sort of thing is sufficiently concerning to you.

Also, you are aware that canonical (the company that makes ubuntu) does not actually monitor this forum -- this is a user forum only.

Can you help with this problem?
