Right Clicking on desktop problem

Asked by Nisarg Mehta

Hi,

Whenever I "right click" on desktop, it automatically creates a new folder on desktop. I am using Ubuntu 11.04 - the Natty Narwhal - released in April 2011. And Gnome Desktop Version 2.32.0.

I am kind of noob at ubuntu. Please need some solution for this problem.

Thanks

Natty is using the Unity Desktop instead of Gnome so this may be a "feature" of this new Desktop. You may need to contact the unity team about this.

The same problem also applies when i right click on a video file, to see more options. It directly selects the first option of right click & plays it in the video player.

Since you are new to Linux I would suggest to switch to the 10.04 LTS which is stable and supported for the next 3 years. Natty is still testing ground and Unity is a relatively new Desktop. Unless of course you want to contribute on testing new releases! :)

Can you help with this problem?
