unity-lens-application

Asked by Steven Austen

The application lens icon has disappeared from the bottom of the unity dash home screen.

I have removed and reinstalled unity-places-applications and unity-lens-application to no avail.

What this means is that when I try and click on the other lens, eg. media, internet etc that nothing happens - i.e. no list at all is returned.

Home, music and files and folder icons are there and work quite OK.

Is there another way I can launch applications that are not on the sidebar.

I have done several goes at reboot (soft and hard) to no avail.

I just tried to get into it again now (30 mins after original post and the icon turned up again (I expect that it will soon disappear though!)

I have the same problem. Could you try unity --reset and see if you get any problems, I get quite a lot of warnings.
