How Does UEFI affect persistence?

Does anyone know if UEFI booting will prevent persistence in a USB stick initialized with Unetbootin? I am having trouble saving files.

Should be unaffecting. UEFI only affects boot. The persistence is stored in a file on the USB storage. Have you tried a different USB stick and/or disabling UEFI (if possible)
