Cannot Run Unetbootin in Ubuntu 12.04

Asked by Peter Fitzpatrick

I have a new machine running Ubuntu 12.04.
I downloaded unetbootin-linux-575 and converted to executable file.
Whenever I try to run the file it just exits immediately with no output at all. I have tried from the command line as well as the graphical interface.

Did I miss something in the down load. I have downloaded twice and got the same result.

Thanks Peter

Thanks Arijit

This is the site that downloaded in the first case. Have done it again and converted to executable by right clicking on file and checking the executable box. If I now double click on the file nothing seems to happen. If I try to run via terminal I get no feedback at all. There is no errors generated and I do not have to put a password during any of this process (This was mentioned in the information that I may have to do)

Unetbootin is in the repos, you don't need to manually download anything. Just run:

sudo apt-get install unetbootin

and it will be installed.

Thanks
Found the repos. Had not used them before. All worked fine.
Appears that the file I downloaded was a newer one.
Thanks Again
