Ubuntu 11.04-rev211 Installation error

Asked by Chet Shah

After the initial installation (described here, http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/windows-installer) when it reboots the first time I'm getting "unexpected exit with status 0x0009" error and nothing happens at that stage.

It did give me the options to boot from Win 7 or Ubuntu. I selected Ubuntu, it then went through "finishing up installation" stage, the same stage at which I'm getting the error message.

So did you install Ubuntu inside Windows (Using Wubi) or did you resize the NTFS and install a true dual boot

This issue isn't specific to wubi. Please review bug 727620 and see if that applies to you.
