Adjusting Volumes

Asked by Geoff Lowther

Just managed to get my SMS notification sound back following excellent help from Pat McGowan (pat-mcgowan) on bug #1544477

Looking at bug #1368827 it looks like we should be able to adjust each type of volume independently - as that looked as though it was fixed/released in 2014, is this just behind the scenes somehow?

I'm assuming that somehow I managed to set the SMS notification to 'Mute' but as there is only a single control for volume on System Settings | Sound, I can't see how I have done this (as all other sounds seem to be working).

Does anyone know if there are any plans to add individual sound volumes (similar to Android) so that I wouldn't need to go behind the scenes and delete the ubuntu-phablet-stream-volumes.tdb file again if the problem re-occurs?

** Not sure what package this is for so have removed indicator-messages from the tags and added ubuntu-touch-settings.
