while upgrading my ubuntu version from 22.04 to 24.04 i faced these issues This was likely caused by: * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu Please use the tool 'ppa-purge' from the ppa-purge package to remove software from a Launchpad PPA and try the upgrade again. If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. If you want to investigate this yourself the log files in '/var/log/dist-upgrade' will contain details about the upgrade. Specifically, look at 'main.log' and 'apt.log'.

* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
Please use the tool 'ppa-purge' from the ppa-purge
package to remove software from a Launchpad PPA and
try the upgrade again.

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the
command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. If
you want to investigate this yourself the log files in

The release upgrade from Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04 is not supported yet.
See https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu-24-04-lts-noble-numbat-release-notes/39890#upgrades-4

You should wait for the publishing of Ubuntu 24.04.1 in August.

The OP was actually doing a release-upgrade from Ubuntu 22.04 to Ubuntu 23.10, which is currently supported (even if the intention/hope was to go to 24.04 as stated in description)

I suggest that you start by removing samba
