Brightness control not working in sony vaio E series amd 64 on ubuntu 11.10

Brightness control is not working through fn keys .I tried xbacklight but couldn't???plzz help me

Oneiric is not supported in any way anymore. It is EOL. You can upgrade to Precise online. Precise is LTS and fully supported til April 2017.
