Ubuntu Region Settings: Juba, South Sudan (please)

Asked by stephen kovats

Dear Ubuntu,

it's a bit embarrassing but the regional settings for Ubuntu still list Juba (the capital of the Republic of South Sudan, an independent nation since July 9, 2011) as being in 'Sudan'.

We urge you to correct this ASAP (as well as any other settings and references to cities in South Sudan which may still erroneously be marked 'Sudan') so that we can better help promote and use Ubuntu in the Republic of South Sudan.

Greetings,

Stephen Kovats

I suggest you report a bug. Don't be embarassed, this is why the community is great as lots of eyes can spot issues and report them to make things right :)

Hi folks,

sure, I can report this as a 'bug', although it's not a bug, but a bit of sloppiness on the part of a great platform that prides itself on its 'african roots'. Don't worry ... I wasn't embarrassed, it's ubuntu who should be embarrassed ... or at the least, I was embarrassed on behalf of ubuntu.

greetings,
