I suggest you format Quantal off and install Precise. Quantal is not stable and not ready, why did you install the pre-release when you are new to the OS??? Quantal will have a lot of features missing as well as random glitches and such and is designed (currently) for advanced users and developers to report bugs and get the OS ready for release in October.
