Yes, the desktop OS just has a GUI. The server OS being GUIless makes it more secure (fewer processes to compromise) and lighter and faster boot (fewer apps to startup). You can install mysql and apache on the desktop OS if you wish, there are no restrictions.

Can I configure My own mail server and DNS server in Ubuntu PC os itself?

If this feature is enabled with PC OS mean, I am very much happy to use this........

Mail server means IMAP and POP3 configuration and so on......

Yes, you can install the relevant packages and configure the service as you need.

The command "auto" and "iface" is not working in my Ubuntu OS while configuring the network...
