I get message after message in terminal that says, "unable to enumerate USB device on port 1"

Asked by Michael Otavka

The message, "unable to enumerate USB device on port 1" keeps going line by line, fills the screen and keeps going. It does the same in all six terminals. Becuse of this, I am unable to use the shell. How can I make it stop?

This is mostly causes by a faulty USB device. (cable problem, plug not completly in the socket, hardware problem, bad implementation of the USB protocol, …).
Disconnect all USB devices one by one to see which causes the problem and check it for any damage!
