problem with Greek language recognition in 12.04 LTS

Hi, to anyone reading my problem!

   I did an upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04 3 days ago and i found out that there where some text files written in Greek that they couldn't be read no more.

   I understand that this might be to simple to solve but since i am new to linux, i need some help!
