Cursor wont stay in one place to add text.

Asked by Frank Mcquaid

I either have a virus or I have changed some configurtion file accidentally.
When I place the cursor in a text editor the cursor follows the mouse pointer 2 seconds after I click and place the cursor.
So I end up entering text someplace other than where I originally put the cursor.
What configuration file, if any, in Ubuntu would I change to correct this problem.
Any help would be appreciated
Frank

Log off, in the login screen after you click your username, then click the cog and select Unity2D. Like so:

This worked the second time I tried it.
Do you know the setting I changed to start this in the first place?
Thanks Frank
