Revert to old interface from new unity on 11.10

i have installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my Lenovo Y560 laptop as dual boot with windows 7.everything works just fine but i want to revert back to old Gnome interface.I tried way as logout from current user->>on login screen enter login credentials and then select Ubuntu 2D but it didn't work for me.i can see only two option for Ubuntu and Ubuntu 2D.Please help me.

Install gnome-panel package, log out and choose "GNOME Classic" in the log in screen.

you could choose 'Ubuntu classic' as your desktop session type when you log on - click on your user name and before you enter your password, look along the bottom of the login screen and you'll see a row of information as follows:

your language, keyboard type, and then the session type - choose Ubuntu Classic
