try installing gnome tweak tool, just search it in the software centre, then click install, once you have done this, go and download this:
http://gnome-look.org/content/download.php?content=73782&id=1&tan=2833615&PHPSESSID=124208fe2da07c02ba9a2d42b10f0054

now, open it up and click extract, and browse to your home directory in the file viewer that appears, now press control+h to view hidden files, then select the folder .themes, open it up and extract into there, if .themes is not there, then create it, once it has extracted start up gnome tweak tool, you can find it by searching advanced settings in the dash, then go to the themes tab, in the drop down menu for window themes, select not xp, and also select this in the metacity drop down menu. Now the theme should be on.

Can you help with this problem?
