how do i get the ubuntu server To look like a desktop instead of a CMD prompt???

Hey,

So i just installled Ubunut server base installation onto my Dell Power edge and when i boot it up i login on the command prompt then it just stays the same the command prompt doesnt leave...

I am learning the basics of servers but i know windows server '08 has a desktop and all, doesnt ubuntu??

Btw this is the newest version just downloaded.

Can some please tell me how to get the desktop of ubuntu onto my server????

Please note that it is not recommended to install a GUI on Ubuntu Server (see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ServerGUI). If the reasons not to do so don't apply to you, then the advantages of Ubuntu Server compared to a desktop Ubuntu system likely don't apply either. You can install the same network services on a desktop Ubuntu system as on an Ubuntu Server system.
