Why keyboard shortcuts do not work after window close?

1. I open an application e.g. terminal
2. I close the application's window
3. Keyboard shortcuts do not work at all and if I want them back working, I have to click on the desktop's background
I'm on the "classic" ubuntu desktop. It didn't happen before upgrade to 11.04.. Please help me. This is very inconveniant.

I suggest you log a bug.

Create a new user and log on as that to see if it is settings based.
