Ubuntu natty alpha3 version: Why do programs often shut down abruptly or freeze?

Asked by vincent.lungwitz

In the new Ubuntu version, I receive a proble report almost every session I use the computer. Some program shuts down suddenly, or freezes. Why? What did I do wrong? How can I help it?

P.S. Over the last half year, Ubuntu has turned really bad overall: less stabil, less convenient. I am now as dissatisfied with it as I was with Windows the last time!

In case you talk about Natty 11.04 while it's still alpha please read release notes first.
Then investigate the issue, search bug reports, confirm it or report yourself.

Sudden freezes can mean a lot, graphic card, driver, X freeze, you need to provide details to investigate.
