Again Ubuntu is NOT keeping accurate Time and date in Virtualbox

Asked by Snooper on 2019-12-09

Again Ubuntu is NOT keeping accurate Time and date in Virtualbox: THIS IS UBUNTU NOT ALLOWING THE CORRECT TIME AND DATE TO BE MANUALLY RESET THROUGH -> 'SETTINGS'-> TIME AND DATE . SOME UPGRADES LIKE THAT JUST RELEASED ON MONDAY DECEMBER 09, 2019. CAUSE THIS BEHAVIOR. AND DO NOT GIVE THE LAME EXCUSE OF NOT KEEPING TRACK OF WHEN SUCH UPGRADES ARE RELEASED.

WHEN WILL THIS DOCUMENTED SEVERAL TIME OVER IN THE UBUNTU HELP DOCUMENTS -FAILURE TO CORRECTLY BE ABLE TO SET TIME AND DATE- BUG BE FIXED?? WHEN??

Please don't post all in captials, this is harder to read and looks like shouting, so PLEASE DON'T.

And again:
The problem that you encounter is not caused by Ubuntu, but by Virtualbox. Ubuntu can't solve that problem, but there is a workaround.

For diagnostic purposes: what is the output of the commands

systemctl status vboxadd-service
timedatectl status
timedatectl set-ntp off
timedatectl set-ntp on
hwclock --set --date="`LANG=C date`"
timedatectl status

Oops, sorry, I missed adding sudo to the hwclock command.

What is the output of the commands

systemctl status vboxadd-service
timedatectl status
timedatectl set-ntp off
timedatectl set-ntp on
sudo hwclock --set --date="`LANG=C date`"
timedatectl Status

(Remark: after the first command you have to press the "q" key to go back to the command prompt)
