Again Ubuntu is NOT keeping accurate Time and date in Virtualbox

Asked by Snooper

UBUNTU STILL NOT KEEPING CORRECT SYSTEM TIME AND DATE IN VIRTUAL BOX WILL NOT MANUALLY RESET

Ubuntu in Virtualbox under Windows 10. UBUNTU STILL NOT KEEPING CORRECT SYSTEM TIME AND DATE IN VIRTUAL BOX WILL NOT MANUALLY RESET: ESPECIALLY THE SECONDS. WHEN I ATTEMPT TO RESET THE SECONDS TO BEING CORRECT WITH THE SYSTEM SETTINGS. DATE AND TIME UBUNTU DOES NOT REMEMBER THE CORRECT SETTINGS AND IGNORES.

"..This is not an Ubuntu problem, but a bug in VirtualBox https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/16181

You have already asked this question twice, and I have already told you twice what to do as workaround:

Open system settings and disable automatic time synchronisation, and enable it again.

Other possible workaround:
In a terminal windows issue the commands
timedatectl set-ntp off
timedatectl set-ntp on .."

As I have seen in many such related Ubuntu time settings incorrect posts:
This IS with UBUNTU and the above DOES NOT correct this issue!
when will this ever be fixed?

This IS with UBUNTU and the above DOES NOT correct this issue! This is your statement. I have been using Ubuntu since 2008. Only one time, I had a time problem. I caused the problem by doing something wrong. It had to do with Greenwich Mean Time and where I live. So to me Ubuntu doesn't have a time problem. Something else must be causing this problem. You use Virtualbox and Windows 10. I do not. What makes you say Ubuntu causes this problem, and not Windows 10 or Virtualbox? The reason I would like to know, is I am thinking about installing Virtualbox. Please explain why Windows 10 isn't causing the problem. That would be my first guess. I know very little about Virtualbox, so would not know how it could cause problem. All I know about my problem, I would set the time, and it would change the time by five hours.
Thanks
