If the Icon on the Unity Launchbar marked 'Files' is called 'nautilus' Then That Is Precisely What the Newest Incarnation of Firefox is DISABLING from functioning!!

What happens if you experience this firefox problem, then open a terminal window and issue the command

nautilus

?

Furthermore, for diagnostic purposes, what is the output of the commands
uname -a
lsb_release -crid
apt-cache policy firefox nautilus
df -h | grep '^/dev/'
free -m

Now that firefox has had an upgrade: still waiting for this behavior to repeat.
The point was, that it was disabling Native Ubuntu 'Files' ( nautilus) functionality.
I DO NOT use Firefox for the Function of searching my files and directories.
How would that even be possible?
How did you come to that hypothesis?
