Can I use anyrthing other than firefox Browser ? I can"t update it

Sure, you can use whatever browser suits your fancy - provided you have the hardware and the system is a current release.
show us:
lsb_release -a
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
As the goal is to fix the system;
current build version for 16.04 ; " 57.0.3+build amd64 " .

There are several browsers available. Install one you like
