Lenovo Yoga wifi keeps stopping

Since when I moved to 16.04 LTS I am having troubles with the WIFI

WIFI is very slow ( compare before and other PC connected to the same SSL )

Looses connection within minutes since the boot

I discovered that using the NETWORK utility I could disable/enable the hotspot and even is showing a wired connection only the wifi was working without rebooting - now after some trying the WIFI disappear from Network and I have to reboot

Please first connect your network card to the wireless router using an ethernet cable (also known as a LAN cable) and apply all updates.

In order to gather essential troubleshooting information about your wireless card, please follow this procedure:

Step 1

In the Ubuntu Terminal console , make sure that unlimited scrolling is enabled:

click on Edit > Profiles > "Default" profile > Scrolling. Choose "Unlimited" as scrolling option. Click Close and Close again.

If you are using the Gnome interface, open the Terminal console via "Applications->Accessories->Terminal"

If you are using the Unity interface (default graphical user interface in Ubuntu), use the 'search' function on the dash. Or you can click on the 'More Apps' button, click on the 'See more results' by the installed section, and find it in that list of applications. A third way, available after you click on the 'More Apps' button, is to go to the search bar, and see that the far right end of it says 'All Applications'. You then click on that, and you'll see the full list. Then you can go to Accessories > Terminal after that.

So the methods in Unity are:

Press CTRL-ALT-T key combination.

Dash > Search for Terminal

Dash > More Apps > 'See More Results' > Terminal

Dash > More Apps > Accessories > Terminal

website using a web browser (like Google Chromium or Mozilla Firefox) into the Linux Terminal. The command STARTS with the word sudo and ENDS with the word lsmod. I live in open countryside and the only SSID I can get connected is lamassa21 straight or 5G
because of my problem the airplane icon does not show any SSD while right-clicking it

connection.

Please log into the wireless router using a working, WIRED Internet
connection, and force the wireless router to use Wireless-G speeds. So
force the router to lower the speed from 150 Mb/s to 54 Mb/s to try to
stabilize the connection.

Then please retest wireless.

I had never had any "fast wifi connection" every other user had a faster service than I have had.

Also you asked me to test the system on wired connection, why then you do go wondering for wifi ?

How can I force the router to use wifi who are not shown ?
The 5G wifi is the one that I can hardly use because less strong that lamassa21 straight.

Is there any "general" issue to considerate for having a straight forward resolution of the problem wherever I am using wifi ?

So many questions....

In post #2 I advised using a WIRED connection in order to be able to install software updates, including driver updates for your wireless adapter.

In post #5, I advised using a WIRED connection in order to be able to access your wireless router's configuration settings and to force the router to set a lower speed.

If you do not have physical access to the router because it is NOT your own router, I am afraid I cannot help you any further. I assume that people who ask for help here actually have access to their own wireless router....

Furthermore, it may be due to a hardware issue anyway. Please read this for more info:

I loved your tidy and very organised way to give help : if it is not it should be made as a standard becaus ea lot of answers are not understandable and needs a lot of tune-up .

I was so take to follow your "commands" correctly that I didn't pay enough attention to the direction #5

I'll do that change on the router ( which is in my loft ) hoping that it is not an hardware fault : I love my little Lenovo even if the freezing within 01-15 minutes happens to me in some compilation of the 16.04 ( not all of them ).

Have you got any idea on how I can reset the Internet connection icon on the up-right side that does not show any more SSID that I have to open the network application to stop the hotspot and restart it from there.

I'm a 60yo guy who worked in UNIX in the 70s and 80s : no Internet command nor variable then.
