md5 sum doesn't match

Trying to compare md5 sums for ubuntu-14.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso and they do not match.

Then re download it. The file has corrupted in transmission from the server to your system. If you use torrents then you are more likely to get a good file as the torrent protocol adds extra error checking.

You have to be sure to compare against the correct values. In http://releases.ubuntu.com/14.04.1/MD5SUMS you have to select the right line, in you case most probably

119cb63b48c9a18f31f417f09655efbd *ubuntu-14.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso

If you get a different value, you have to restart the download.
