LXC-Start in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Asked by Sachin Sharma

I upgraded my linux from 11.04 to 12.04. However simple lxc creation and start commands are not working fine in Ubuntu 12.04. I am observing following error while starting a LXC.

:sudo lxc-start -n new3

lxc-start: No such file or directory - failed to rename cgroup /cgroup//lxc/2200->/cgroup//lxc/new3
lxc-start: failed to spawn 'new3'
lxc-start: No such file or directory - failed to remove cgroup '/cgroup//lxc/new3'

I find following in kernal messages (through demsg) while running lxc-start command:
[ 787.739613] device veth0EFRtO entered promiscuous mode
[ 787.742580] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): veth0EFRtO: link is not ready
[ 1054.964896] device veth9jocli entered promiscuous mode
[ 1054.966778] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): veth9jocli: link is not ready
[ 2144.119473] device vetht2o81I entered promiscuous mode
[ 2144.121356] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): vetht2o81I: link is not ready

Can somebody help me in finding the solution or somebody knows how to fix it?

Did you upgrade to 11.10 in between 11.04 and 12.04, or did you jump direct from 11.04 to 12.04 in one jump?

Thanks

Sorry for confusion.

I mean to say that earlier i was using 11.04 and there was no problem regarding lxc creation and start. lxc-create and lxc-start commands were working fine there.

However, I now took ubuntu 12.04 image from http://boss.emulab.net/downloads/images-STD/UBUNTU12-64-STD . I get the problem on this image.

What is this site you provided ?

The correct (the Official one) is : http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

or directly to 12.04.2 LTS

http://releases.ubuntu.com/precise/

Please download from above links and install again.
