USB device only loads on boot

Automount and automount-open are enabled by default in Ubuntu 12.04

Open a terminal and try

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.media-handling automount true
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.media-handling automount-open true

Logout - Login and see if automount and automount-open been enabled.

Thank you for the reply. I tried the solution, but no change to the
problem. I think the issue is Think-centre S51 support issue, probably
not resolvable.

Can you plug the usb and then give the output of

dmesg | tail -n 30

Is this happening with all USB devices ?

 From the results of dmesg I cannot see anything. Like you not connected
anything.

Can you post the output of commands

lsmod

Also are you connect the usb devices via Usb hub OR directly to Usb port ?

Weird problem. Maybe you should convert this question to a bug. We'll see.
