Can't get on Ubuntu Forums

I attempted to log into the ubuntu forums. I selected to have it associate my launchpad ID with a new forum account. Once I logged in to launchpad, it said automatic association was disabled, so I had to create a new ID. I entered the information for a new ID and it said the e-mail address is already in use. Of course, because I have a launchpad account. So, how do I create a forum account with the same e-mail address? I'm not about to create a separate e-mail address just for forums. Any help will be appreciated, since I'd rather ask mundane questions on the forums instead of clogging launchpad with them. Thanks :)

I was just able to associate my Launchpad ID with my Ubuntu Forums account, so I recommend you try again--the problem you experienced may have been due to a temporary condition.

Besides that, if it says your email address is already in use, it probably means that it is already in use for an Ubuntu Forums account. So perhaps an Ubuntu Forums account did get created. You could try logging in, and if that doesn't work, you could try recovering your password.

By the way, I see no reason why Launchpad would be inappropriate for mundane questions, though I'm not sure exactly what you mean by mundane. Any question about Ubuntu, even if it is not about a serious problem you're having, is probably appropriate for Launchpad.
